As a first time mom and a first time employer, Employer to my Ethan's Yaya. I am new in handling Yaya employment, funny isn't it.. Im an HR practioner in my office, but employing a kasambahay is a different thing, The Employment of  Househelpers Stipulated in the Labor Code of The Philippines has a very minimal information, and i say that this is need to be updated, We treat our kasamabahy fair naman, with  a makatarungan monthly salary, a very comfortable higaan, with blanket, pillows, electric fan.. even a TV inside her bedroom.. yuff!!! She has her own bedroom ( as in nde quarters ha:-))  (pero hina signal)hehe! There's a lot of foods and  she can eat what she wants, free use of toiletries (except soap and shampoo, choosy sya eh.. nde nya brand ang brand ko)  she can go naman if she wants, she can join us on our gala naman. She had this 2 week vacation last christmas with pay and a bonus, hatid sundo pa sa terminal. I always call her "sossy yaya"  

We're fine with this set-up..

Oh my!!!  I asked for the updated version and here it is... naku!!! mukhang mapapalaki pa ang gastos ko! need her to register in SSS and PHIC, so extra cost for me for her contribution tapos kailangan ko pa mag leave to accompany her sa SSS and Philhealth. 

I also learned that I give above the minimum salary, vacation Leave and also increased her by 10%.  The opportunity for education, This is fine with me. basta ba alagaan ng mabuti ni Yaya si Ethan:-)

Pero paano naman sa mga iba na walang mapag iiwanan ng anak nila?  sino magbabantay sa bata? o kaya sa mga helpers ng bahay? sino magbabantay ng bahay habang wala si amo?  edi mag paparty ang mga magnanakaw?  tapos bira pa ang Kasambahay Law ng 8 hours resting period a day? .. naku! problema ko to!!! nakakauwi na ako ng 8PM. magluuto pa ako at kakain.. after nito.. mag aalaga na ulit ako ke Ethan kasi resting period na ni yaya?  awts!!!!  e si yaya naman alaga lang ke Ethan, na walang ginawa kundi manoond ng TV, maglaro ng kotse kotsehan, mag slide sa clubhouse, kumain at matulog (syempre tulog din si yaya pag tulog alaga) hala! Mukhang pagod na pagod ako dito ah.  

At eto ang nde ko na take.... pede umalis si yaya for 5 days notice? hala!!! nde ito makatarungan!!! ganon ganon lang ha? ok fine, pede to  basta ilalagay ko sa contract.. 5 days notice basta may kapalit si yaya! ok na ko dun:-)

What Happened to Our Happiness Jar?

Last February 11, 2013. I posted a photo of The Opura's Happiness Jar in my Facebook account:-)

 I asked Jerome and Ethan's yaya to participate in my little project. 3 Happiness Jars for Jerome, Ethan and Me. We will write our happy moments for the day in a piece of paper and put it in our happiness jars. Very effective kasi since we had this Happiness Jars, lalong sumaya sa Shoebox House! Kasi everytime na iaatempt kong magbasa, nagkakahiyaan kami ng mga sinulat.. itinatakbo pa nga ni Yaya ang Happiness Jar ni Ethan kasi sya ang nagsusulat don:-) pero ano nga ba ang mga naisulat sa Happiness jars?  Last night, when Yaya Vivian is upstairs and Jerome was busy eating... binuksan ko ang happiness Jar ni Ethan at ito ang una kong nabasa....

Wow! My Ethan knows na how to make friends with others at sa curly hair pa na gaya nya:-) hahaha!... and no wonder that the Clubhouse is his Happy place. Napangiti ako dun ah!!! ooopsss!!! isa lang ang binasa ko... binasa ko na ang kay Jerome.... Grabeh! sobrang saya ko sa participation ng asawa kong ta tatlong papel lang ang nakalagay sa Happiness jar nya. Pero sobrang natawa ako sa nilagay nya ha:-)  kung ano yon SECRET na lang at baka magalit si BOSS!!!

The Shoebox House of Us!

      

 We are living in a shoebox houseJ  The shoe box house is a small two storey home of the Opura’s, Jerome and I invested this home before Ethan came in our lives. Before, this house was just a plain boring house,

So we had a tree planting project

 Then we had Kimi and Woobitu that made The shoebox house exciting!

But, they left us… Kimi was buried in our mini farm cum garden dapatJ

 When Ethan arrived, the shoebox began to have it’s character

I remember the first time Ethan saw this, he is wearing a Dalmatian onesies that matches our Dalmatian couch,

And this is our first family picture in the shoebox house!

And it’s the beginning of having so many precious moments in The shoebox house.

as a mother and a wife, I am in-charge in the presentation of this Shoebox House.  The first floor is divided into five: The living room, The dining ,The Kitchen, The Comfort Room and the Laundry area  .In the living area,  black and white floral curtains compliment my two chairs.

 My favorite morning tambayan. 

 The couch is jerome’s fave place, lying here and embracing his fave throw pillow while watching TV is a heaven for him.   

Ethan’s fave is our center table where his toys are being park.  

In the dining area, there's my  favorite dining table. I love setting this up, Syempre dun nakalaagay ang mga masasarap kong nilulutoJ 

or even processed food.

 The Kitchen, with a black and white theme sana, but still has no paint (supposedly we will put a green paint on the walls that was purchased before Ethan came out, Ethan is already 2 years old and the purchased paint was already expired)!!! Is my second favorite place, I spend most of my Saturdays here cleaning and cooking. (sorry no photo avail.)

The bathroom  was named “Geronimo’s CR” because of the fishes theme,(Ethan’s fave food is fishda!)

And the laundry area is our yaya’s favorite place (hehe) just kiddingJ  (no photo avail again:-(

And hey! almost forgot.. here's the fruit of the tree planting we had.

Living in a Shoebox house makes the Opura’s very contented and happy. We are proud to have this and we are looking forward with our family journey in this Shoebox House of UsJ

My Portrait

Ako yan sa maniwala’t kayo o hinde. Ako talaga yan! Hehe! This is me when I was in college, Our neighbor who is a painter invite me to be his model (model daw oh! feelingera! hehehe) actually, pinagpraktisan nya ko, imagine for almost two hours nakatanga ako s bahay nila at ngalay na ngalay na nakatingin sa kanya.  

Nung matapos at ipakita saa akin. (ay! Parang ang haba ng baba ko – sabi ko sa sarili ko) pero syempre.. nagpasalamat pa rin ako at umuwi…. Nung makita ng kuya ko ang painting, sabi nya:  “haba baba! Ipatapyas mo yang baba mo!” hahaha.  (sabi ko na nga ba mahaba talaga ang baba ko sa painting na yun eh!) kaya... Bumalik ako sa kapit bahay at pinabawas ko ang baba ko (Belo?) binawasan nman nya… pagbalik ko sa bahay sabi ng kuya “bat mahaba pa rin?” hahaha! Laughtrip talaga… Yang portrait na yan nakalagay sa rhea’s gallery: 

sabi ni Jerome tanggalin ko daw yan at ang pangit daw ganon din ang sabi ng kuya ko, baket lahat sila sinasabi pangit yan. E gandang ganda kaya ako dyan! Mahirap kaya mag drawing, crapas kaya medium nya.. hirap I blend nun ha. (naks! Parang may alam eh no?) Nasan na kaya yung kapit bahay namin? Kung makikita ko lang ulit sya, mag po pose ulit ako. Hahaha!

O eto ang picture ko nung college, para maniwala kayo na ako nga ang nasa painting. 

My Little Ethan

This is my son, Ethan Geronimo, photo taken on his 2nd day. The Wonderful moment I ever had in my life. Isang buong araw akong hinde natulog at walang ginawa kundi titigan sya magdamag, I can't believe that he's there na beside me:-)  I'm just always staring at him checking if he still breathe and if he needs my milk.  For the first time in my life I carried a baby na almost 5 lbs lang. Takot kasi akong magkarga ng bata simula ng maraming beses na nahulog at nadapa sa aking mga kamay ang pamangkin kong inalagaan ko noon. hehehe!

But this baby made me stronger, almost 3 months akong leave ha kahit na normal delivery ako, I almost resign na rin sa work ko just to be with him. He's my precious!

And this is him now, after two years sinong mag-aakala na ang baby na almost 5lbs ay lalaki ng ganyan? The crazeemum really adores My Little Ethan is now A Big Boy!
